Prayer

Prayer, in the name of Jesus Christ, is an essential part of the Christian life.  We encourage individual prayer, prayer in private families and corporate prayer in small groups.

Resources and Opportunities to pray.

• Pray Right Now

You might find the letters of ACTS a helpful guideline:
Adoration – What can you praise God for?
Confession – What sin needs confessed in your life?
Thanksgiving – What can you thank God for?
Supplication – Who do you need to pray for?

Prayer Fellowship

Prayer Fellowship meets from 7.30 pm – 9.30pm in the church on Monday evenings on the first and third Monday of each month. The meetings are informal with several members of the group taking it in turn to lead. While the major focus of prayer is for the various activities of Fitzroy and individuals with particular needs, we also pray for wider church, national and international issues. In particular, on the first Monday of each month we spend most of our time praying for those working in mission situations and overseas. Everyone is welcome.

• Pray in small groups

There are opportunities to pray in Home groups, Presbyterian Women, and other small groups. Parents Together meets on the last Saturday of each month to pray for the children of the church family, and also to discuss parenting issues, both in a confidential forum.

Look at the Calendar for opportunities to pray.

• Services

There are many people, issues, events and other matters raised in our weekly services which need prayer.

• Prayer for our Missionaries

Regular prayer bulletins for our Missionaries are available in the Church.

Annually The Presbyterian Church in Ireland publish a booklet on Points for Prayer which is also available in the Church pews.
