Visiting Fitzroy?

We're pleased to welcome you

Whether you are curious or seriously seeking a "church home or family,” you are very welcome at Fitzroy. The steps below help you know what to expect on Sundays, but there are plenty of weekday programmes if you want to visit then.

Steps to Visiting on Sunday

1.    Choose a Worship Service

Worship is at 11am and 7pm, with some exceptions at Christmas and Easter. Each service usually lasts an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half and includes a sermon, prayers, bible reading and music. The morning and evening services are different in content and you are welcome to come to both services. On your first visit, it’s best to arrive about 10 minutes early, or 15 minutes early if you need time to find your children’s programme locations. Programmes for children and youth coincide with the 11am service only.

2. Arrive

We are based at one location. Parking is readily available in the streets around the church on a Sunday. We are also located close to bus stops and Botanic train station. Arriving 10 or 15 minutes before the service starts will make things easier.

3.    Find a Place for Yourself and Your Family

Welcome volunteers are ready to answer your questions before, during, and after each service. Just look for them at the main doors of the church. They can help you choose a home group or other activity that’s right for you. If you have children they can help you find out about classes and locations.

4.    Celebrate Through Worship

Welcome volunteers will welcome you into the church and give you an order of service outlining the service. They can help you find a seat, but you are welcome to sit anywhere; there are no reserved seats. Biblical teaching, a blend of musical styles, prayer, giving, and regularly-scheduled communion services (second Sunday morning of each month) are key components of worship at Fitzroy. At the end of the service, everyone is usually invited to stand and greet one another with handshakes.

5. Let Us Help You

If you would like to talk about a personal concern or something you heard in the service, look out for a welcome volunteer, the minister or an elder. These men and women have been trained to listen and encourage, and they are eager to help. They also can arrange prayer with you.
