Children & Young People

‘I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.’ John 10:10

This has always been Fitzroy’s verse, and this is no different for Fitzroy Youth Ministry!

We believe that our kids and young people are made to live life to the full, with purpose and joy. All our groups have the same mission to create a safe, fun and faith-filled space where our children and youth can explore what it means to follow Jesus, ask the big questions and grow in relationship with each other and their leaders.

We are here to walk alongside them and there are so many groups where everyone is welcome!

For any questions about any of our groups or interest in volunteering with us please email: Youth@fitzroy.org.uk

During the Week

Babies & Tots

This group happens on Wednesday Mornings 10:30am-12pm for any parent or guardian to bring little ones. It is a fun-filled time for your babes and children as well as some adult company for you! There are toys, snacks and plenty of tea and coffee. Whether you’re a regular or new you will always feel a warm welcome!

Frazzle & Frenzy

Do you have a child in primary school that always seems to have energy bouncing off the walls on a Friday night? This is the group for them.

Ran by a fantastic group leaders, Frazzle and Frenzy both run on Fridays from 6:30-7:30pm. They are full of games, crafts and fun activities, and it’s a great way to let them blow off some steam (Although no promises we won’t give them sugar as they leave.)

Flipside

This is our older youth club for secondary school age that runs Every Friday from 8-9:30pm. We have varied themed nights, hall and church wide games, chill hang-out nights and lots of snacks. The perfect wind down after a week at school and welcome to everyone!

During the Week

Preload & Download

These are our groups for primary school age that happen on a Sunday morning during the service. Preload happens in the Newell room and Download happens in the Alexander Hall. We have a fantastic rota of leaders who bring bible stories to life through games and crafts, while you are able to sit in the church service.

These groups also bless us at the front during family services with singing, dramas and sometimes a nativity!

Bible Class

This is the group for our 1st-5th years go out to during the church service. We have a great team of leaders who lead our young people through the bible and different Christian topics that relate to their lives. (Something a bit more entertaining for them than a sermon!)

Evolve

Evolve happens on a Sunday night at 7pm and is our youth fellowship group for secondary school age. This group is a bit more chill, and where our young people can build their relationship with Jesus, read the bible and go deeper with their questions.

We focus on what having a faith looks like in their lives now and explore different topics with talks, discussion groups and activities to switch it up.

Throughout the Year

Summer Madness

We bring our youth group 3rd year and up to Summer Madness in Portglenone.

This year it is happening the 27th June – 1st July 2025. We enjoy every year watching our youth grow in their relationship with Jesus as they experience talks, worship and seminars being encouraged by the many other Christians their age around them. As well as this they have lots of fun and build friendships with each other and their leaders. You will probably find our group playing in the volleyball tournament and their leaders shouting competitively from the sidelines!

Kids Summer Club

Our Kids summer club this year is called ‘Safe to Shore’ and is happening for our primary school kids and wider community from the 15th-18th July 2025 1-3:30pm.

It will involve bible stories, upfront songs and dramas, crafts, fun activities and snacks. It is completely free to register, and you can out more via our social media pages and poster.

This week also opens opportunity to involve our secondary school age youth in getting a chance to lead as they will be helping In action teams, drama teams and within each age group. They will also have daily devotional morning meetings to go to and fun youth activities in the evening planned from 7pm each night.

Inbetweeners

The Inbetweeners is a newly formed group for 6th year and university student age (Although you do not have to be in university)

This bridges the gap for our youth that have just left all our other youth groups and gives sixth year a perspective into adulting. This changes times but usually happens on an evening during the week once every ¾ weeks.

Sometimes we meet for discussion group or others to play games and socialise. And for our students there is always yummy food provided!
