Safeguarding Conference - Taking Care of all

helping-handsTo raise awareness of Adult safeguarding and the Presbyterian Church in Ireland guidelines and policy.

Thursday, 15th March 2018, from 10.30am to 3.00pm, Assembly Buildings, Belfast

The purpose of this conference is to raise awareness throughout the Church of Adult Safeguarding and the Presbyterian Church in Ireland (PCI) guidelines and policy. The event will be of particular interest to ministers, elders, pastoral visitors, staff/volunteers involved in adult organisations.

PCI Guidelines on Adult Safeguarding will be formally launched at the conference.

Topics covered:

  • Who is an adult at risk
  • Prevention agenda
  • Types of abuse
  • The role of the churches in this area

Keynote Speakers include:

Joyce McKee – an elder in Hillsborough Presbyterian Church, who also works in the area of adult safeguarding.

Veronica Gray – Director of Action on Elder Abuse (NI).
